NPDC Inglewood waste water treatment plant

Treated wastewater from the Inglewood ponds is piped to the New Plymouth wastewater treatment plant most of the time; NPDC holds one consent allowing for intermittent wet-weather overflows of treated wastewater to the Kurapete Stream.

NPDC holds five consents relating to the discharge of treated wastewater into the Tasman Sea, disposal of sludge leachate, the discharge of emissions into the air, and for structures.

NPDC Waitara wastewater treatment plant & marine outfall

Since October 2014, Waitara’s municipal wastewater has been piped to the New Plymouth wastewater treatment plant, and the combined report for the January 2014-June 2015 period is the last for the Waitara wastewater treatment plant and marine outfall.

STDC Eltham wastewater treatment plant

Since 2010, treated wastewater from Eltham has been piped to the ponds at Hawera, and STDC holds once consent allowing for discharge of treated wastewater to the Mangwhero Stream under high rainfall conditions only.

STDC Hawera oxidation ponds

Treated wastewater from the Hawera ponds is discharged to the Tasman Sea via the marine outfall used by Fonterra’s Whareroa plant, and STDC holds one consent to discharge to an unnamed stream in the event of high rainfall.
