Review of pest management

Two documents have been prepared as a result of the review of pest management:

The Proposed Regional Pest Management Plan for Taranaki, which sets out the Council's powers and rules to prevent, reduce, or eliminate the adverse effects of 18 targeted pests in the region.

The Draft Taranaki Regional Council Biosecurity Strategy, which outlines the Council’s broader biosecurity goals and actions over the next 20 years, including both regulatory and non-regulatory activities and addressing all harmful organisms.

These documents, as well as a cost-benefit analysis of the Proposed Plan and a number of information sheets, can be downloaded from this page.

Public consultation on Proposed Pest Management Plan and the Draft Biosecurity Strategy has now closed. A date is to be set for the hearing of submissions.
