Stratford Power Station Contact holds resource consents for the power station on SH43 near Stratford, providing for three gas-fired plants. Prior to 2018-2019, it was reported on in conjunction with the Ahuroa Gas Storage Facility. This facility now has a new operator and is reported on in the 'Oil & gas - production' category. detrimental effects were found. However at the time of both surveys, the results
suggested poor preceding water quality that may be indicative of adverse effects associated with the
landfill leachate.
18. Air quality monitoring showed that there were no significant adverse effects in relation to suspended
particulates, dust deposition rates or odour beyond the site boundary.

REGULATORY
OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY
Key initiatives
policy announcements there are notable opportunities for Taranaki. There is a strong focus
on supporting renewable energy development. This is further supported by a broader emphasis on
supporting infrastructure development. How much the repeal of the oil and gas exploration ban affects
the Taranaki economy is uncertain. It is possible that wider market trends will keep the market
depressed.
5. The period of change the regional sector has found itself in over the last few years

(RCPs), based on the IPCC’s fifth assessment report (IPCC, 2013).
It should be noted that variations between global climate models, greenhouse gas
emission trajectories, and how climate change affects erosion processes, contribute to a
high degree of uncertainty in projected changes in suspended sediment loads. There can
be considerable difference between our lowest and highest projections, especially by late
century. Modelled results are therefore presented as a range to communicate the
drilling in the oil and gas sector. For less significant consents, such as for dairy effluent treatment and disposal, region-wide inspection programmes are completed. Approximately 3,300 inspections are undertaken annually as a result of these monitoring programmes, which are carried out on a user-pays basis. Monitoring includes: Water sampling, to measure parameters such as bacteria levels, water clarity, conductivity and acidity (pH levels), nutrient levels, dissolved oxygen levels and the amount of
