Regional Council is required to report every five years
on the state of Taranaki’s environment. To meet this
requirement the Council regularly monitors water quality
in rivers and streams throughout the region.
Over the past 170 years much of Taranaki’s bush cover has been removed as the region has developed into one of the world’s premier dairying areas.
