The monitoring showed that, with the exception of erosion at Urenui Beach and Waitara East Beach, there were only minor concerns noted in relation to activities licensed by coastal permits held by NPDC. Minor repairs were undertaken as necessary. However, a more robust monitoring programme is recommended. (Todd Generation), previously Nova Energy Ltd, operates the McKee Power Plant on Otaraoa Road near Tikorangi, bridging the Waitara and Onaero catchments.
