Biological surveys were performed in spring (October 2015 mainly through to November 2015 with some wet weather delay extending through to December 2015) and summer (February to March 2016). Each seasonal survey assessed the macroinvertebrate communities at 59 sites in 26 rivers and streams. Two new sites were added in the 2015-2016 year, in the upper Waitara River
