The Council plays a key role in regional transport, both in service delivery and in planning and advocacy.
Regional Land Transport Plan 2024-2027
This Plan, adopted in June 2024, sets out Taranaki's strategic direction, priorities and proposed land transport activities for the three years to 30 June 2027, giving approved organisations and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency a platform from which to bid for National Land Transport Fund allocations. It includes the region’s long-term land transport aims, the immediate priorities for improving safety, increasing mode shift and improving reliable connectivity.
