Transport planning documents

This Plan, adopted in June 2024, sets out Taranaki's strategic direction, priorities and proposed land transport activities for the three years to 30 June 2027, giving approved organisations and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency a platform from which to bid for National Land Transport Fund allocations. It includes the region’s long-term land transport aims, the immediate priorities for improving safety, increasing mode shift and improving reliable connectivity.

This Plan, adopted in 2020, sets out the Council's objectives and policies for public transport in the region, and network and development plans for the decade.

The Council developed the Regional Walkways and Cycleways Strategy to promote the increased uptake of walking and cycling activities throughout Taranaki.

The purpose of this Strategy is to set out the strategic and planning framework for avoiding or minimising stock truck effluent discharges onto roads in the Taranaki region.

This strategy is currently being reviewed.
