years ago may now be out of date. Good farming practice can help you in developing your Farm Environment Plan. One of the main reasons for preparing and implementing a farm plan is to recognise where good management practices are currently in place on farm, and identifying where you could adopt extra ones to reduce the risks of soil and nutrient loss on water quality from your farming operation. Contingency discharge to water is allowed only on farms with high-risk soils, generally on the upper ring
Decision-making considerations
14. Part 6 (Planning, decision-making and accountability) of the Local Government Act 2002
has been considered and documented in the preparation of this agenda item. The
recommendations made in this item comply with the decision-making obligations of the
Act.
Financial considerations—LTP/Annual Plan
15. This memorandum and the associated recommendations are consistent with the
Council’s adopted Long-Term Plan and estimates. Any financial information
requires the preparation of an effluent disposal management plan. The plan includes the
reporting on the exercise of the consents. As such the Company provided, at approximately monthly
intervals, discharge data in relation to these consents for the monitoring period.
On two occasions in this monitoring period the Council carried out inter-laboratory comparisons with the
KGTP laboratory. The results are discussed in the following section 2.14.
