Representative, clarified that the assessments undertaken for environmental effects for
incidents of a digger in a river on Weld Road and a hydrocarbon discharge at Port
Taranaki were both visual assessments. An incident report provided by Port Taranaki
will be emailed to Ms E Bailey.
3.5 Councillors D N MacLeod and C L Littlewood declared a conflict of interest in relation to
Port Taranaki Limited.

outlines the importance of wetlands, how their clearance has contributed to the extinction of many
native species and what efforts are being made by local people to preserve these areas.
Invite Kevin to help with a stream study to compare the health of Mangaotuku Stream as it flows
through the domain with its health as it passes through New Plymouth city.

conditions set out
above cannot be met. It would also be required for earthworks
or new planting within five metres of:
A permanent river wider than a metre.
A lake.
A wetland with significant indigenous biodiversity
values.
Other activities such as the installation of permanent
structures, such as culverts and bridges, would still require
resource consents to ensure they don’t cause flooding or
damage ecosystems.
