1.1.4 Evaluation of environmental performance
Besides discussing the various details of the performance and extent of compliance by the consent holders,
this report also assigns a rating as to each Company’s environmental and administrative performance during
the period under review. The rating categories are high, good, improvement
and administrative performance

Environmental performance is concerned with actual or likely effects on the receiving
environment from the activities during the monitoring year. Administrative
performance is concerned with the Company’s approach to
to 21% (for nitrate nitrogen) would be captured.
Even if the total loadings from only pastoral catchments were considered, the overall capture
rate rose only to 23%: that is, over three-quarters of all contaminants originating from
pastoral land would still enter waterways if the LAWF recommendations were fully
implemented.
When Prof McDowell ran the model for the Taranaki ring plain, he found there would be
substantial differences in residual contaminant load entering waterways,
groundwater. More research is needed to find out where
these connections may exist in Taranaki and the significance
of any impacts from groundwater nutrient contributions in
surface water systems.

may have been the result of re-suspended yard dust. The Company undertook a site clean up
as a result of this non-compliance. No
Dispersant is applied at the rates and by the methods
recommended by the manufacturer.
