Highway Excavations in the Pungaereere
catchment, the nature of the monitoring programme in place for the period under
review, and a description of the activities and operations conducted at the Surf
Highway Excavations, Kahui Road site.
Section 2 presents the results of monitoring during the period under review,
including scientific and technical data.
Section 3 discusses the results, their interpretation, and their significance for the
environment.
Section 4 presents recommendations to
total
discharge
Total effluent (kg) 1 000 402
Rainwater runoff (rough
estimate)
1 000 000
Total discharge to sea 2 000 402
The Company's best estimate of rainwater runoff accounts for between half and two
thirds of the total yearly discharge. This is due to the fact that much of the runoff
from the factory roof, plus additional amounts from the car park and road enter the
wastewater system.

14. However, other concerns were more related to activities that were occurring throughout
the Mimi and Urenui catchments upstream of the estuaries. For example, closed
landfills, industrial discharges, roading projects and land use changes.

Matters arising
1.1 Menstrual Products in Schools
It was noted that the Government have introduced funding for menstrual
products in schools. It was clarified that this does not affect the Taranaki
Menstrual workshops that are being organised by the Regional Waste
Minimisation Officer, as these workshops are focused on reusable products as
an alternative to single use products.
1.2 Plastic in Road
Ltd's worm farming operations at Waitara Road and
Pennington Road.
This survey is the fourth fish survey undertaken in the Haehanga Stream, in relation to this site. It was
included for the first time in the 13-14 monitoring period as a replacement for the late summer
macroinvertebrate programme, as flow rates have been slowly reducing overtime, inhibiting
macroinvertebrate sample collection. On this occasion, the fish survey was undertaken concurrent with the
spring/early summer
petrochemical production station
located on Upper Durham Road at Inglewood, in the Waitara catchment. The Sidewinder
Production Station processes oil and gas from the Company’s adjacent Sidewinder wellsite.
This report for the period July 2015 to June 2016 describes the monitoring programme
implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess the Company’s
environmental performance during the period under review. The report also details the results
of the monitoring undertaken and

established in order to explore, evaluate and produce hydrocarbons from within the
Mangahewa formation.
The wellsite is located on Upper Turangi Road at Motunui, approximately 350 metres
south of the intersection between Turangi Road and Main North Road/SH3.
Surrounding land uses are predominantly agricultural, however a number of wellsites
and pipelines associated with hydrocarbon exploration, production and processing are
located within a 10km radius of the site
in the middle of the main river channel.
