Executive summary
The Tawhiti Stream catchment, east of Hawera, is the location of several industries that
processing plant located on SH45 west of Manaia, in the Kaupokonui River catchment. The
Company holds a resource consent to allow it to discharge wastewater directly into the
Tasman Sea. This report for the period July 2014-June 2015 describes the monitoring

1.1.1 Introduction
This report is for the period July 2015-June 2016 by the Taranaki Regional Council (the
Council) describing the monitoring programmes for resource consents authorising the
abstraction of freshwater for irrigation purposes in Taranaki.

industrial premises were monitored under this programme during the year under review. The monitoring
reflects an on-going process of identifying and improving discharges into the catchment in a similar manner

A total of 17 consents were included in the monitoring programme during the
