g) approved the appointment of Bruce Robertson as a member of the Executive,
Audit and Risk Committee for the purposes of the Yarrow Stadium Repair and
Refurbishment Project.
h) agreed that, in constituting a Policy and Planning Committee, nominations from
the three Taranaki District Councils and Federated Farmers be requested to fill the
representative positions on the committee.
i) agreed that, in constituting an Operations and Regulatory Committee, a
nomination from
issue with the ongoing kōrero expected to continue as we work toward notifying our new Natural Resources Plan in 2024. That Plan is the ‘why’ we’re seeking your views, but first lets look at what we’re currently doing. To start the conversation, we’ve compiled a list of 12 values which cover different aspects of freshwater. That includes swimming or recreation, boating, fishing, preserving our native birds and wildlife, mahinga kai, farming, commercial/industrial, supporting healthy ecosystems and

other attributes. Hence,
the setting of flows and levels requires a holistic consideration of the flows required to achieve target states
for ecosystem health and a wide range of other compulsory and non-compulsory values and attributes. Figure
2 illustrates how the management of flows and levels through the NPS-FM and regional planning frameworks
is intended to support the achievement of water quality outcomes. A similar framework can be applied in
relation to other attributes impacted by
Taranaki region. They are the
South Taranaki District Council, Stratford District
Council (excluding parts of the district that lie in the
Whanganui catchment), and the New Plymouth District
Council.

this Plan (with the exception of situations where
adjoining land occupiers of road reserves are deemed

Freshwater Plan for
Taranaki or district plan, or a resource consent, and the stockholding area
must be at least 50m away from any waterway, water bore, drain and the
coastal marine area.
If your stockholding area does not meet the standards above a resource
consent will be required.

Stock exclusion
Stock exclusion is preventing cattle, pigs and deer from gaining access to
wetlands, lakes and rivers wider than one metre anywhere on a property.
Under the new
natural bush, larger wetlands and coastal sites Voluntary scheduling of sites that meet criteria for KNEs. Biodiversity Plans prepared for at least 20 KNE sites per year. Funding may be available for fencing, in-fill planting, pest plant and animal control, and minor infrastructure (stiles, tracks, signage).
