in the CMA where they have an
operational requirement to be located there. For
example, a road across an estuary may not be
functionally required to locate in the CMA - the road
could instead follow the coastline around the
estuary edge. There could however be significant
time and cost savings to both road users and the
road controlling authority as a result of constructing
a bridge across the estuary. In such circumstances,
the operational requirement to provide an efficient
and
sediment supply does not settle long enough to greatly assist with
the beach building process.
Active dunelands exist at some of the larger river mouths and dominate the low-lying

The coastline is noted for high quality surf breaks. This is particularly evident along the

description
The Company’s operations include a composting, quarrying and vermiculture operation at Mokau Road,
Uruti, and vermiculture operations at Waitara Road. The Waitara Road site also has a processing facility
which blends and refines the finished products. Compliance at the Waitara Road facility is now reported
separately.
The Mokau Road, Uruti composting site was established in late 2001, following removal of composting
operations from the old Winstone Aggregates quarry site, Manutahi
on
Turangi Road at Motunui, in the Parahaki catchment. The Turangi Production Station processes oil and gas
from from the Company’s northern Taranaki operations, including the Turangi and Kowhai groups of
wellsites. This report for the period July 2016 to June 2017 describes the monitoring programme
implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess the Company’s environmental and
