3. We have lived here for 36 years, and have farmed the property originally
as a horticultural block, before using the land as a grazing block for heiffers
from our dairy farm.
4. The chicken sheds were in an early form before we brought our land. Early
on, we experienced odour only a very few times a year, when we smelt
odour from the chicken sheds. Back then, we didn’t have meal truck and
chicken
(Kapuni Gas Treatment Plant, KGTP) located on
Palmer Road at Kapuni, in the Kapuni catchment, South Taranaki. This report for the period July 2017 to

Council) to assess Vector’s environmental and consent compliance performance during the period under

2.1.3 Oakura
The Wairau Stream was running clean and clear at low flow, with
in two new replacement hoppers to reduce the risk of dust propagation from bulk dry
cargo unloading operations.
W Log-yard and B Log-yard (Figure 1) have been sealed. Improving stormwater quality was a key factor in
the decision to seal both of these areas. In addition a road sweeping and chamber emptying programme
has been implemented and the stormwater pathways and chambers are regularly cleaned.

processing ceased in June 2002 and brass processing ceased in January 2003. MASL also previously
operated a separate powdercoating facility on Connett Road in the Mangati catchment. This operation was
shifted to the main Paraite Road site during the 2008-2009 year and is now monitored under the existing
consents for this site.
