1. A programme of
years.
This Regional Land Transport Plan for Taranaki (the RLTP or the Plan) has
been prepared by the Regional Transport Committee for Taranaki (the
Committee) which is administered by the Taranaki Regional Council and
includes representatives of all four councils in Taranaki, as well as Waka
Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.
The Plan sets out Taranaki's strategic direction, priorities and proposed land
transport activities for the next 6 years (1 July 2021 to 30 June 2027).
Management Committee held at on
Thursday 14 November 2024 at Taranaki Regional Council have been circulated to the New Plymouth
District Council, Stratford District Council and South Taranaki District Council for receipt and
information.

Therefore, the efficiency of a country’s ports and overall transport
infrastructure is a key determinant for its economic competitiveness.
Business and Economic Research Limited (BERL) has been tasked by the Taranaki Regional Council
(the Council) with providing an analysis of the contribution of Port Taranaki (the Port) to the well-
being of the Taranaki Region. This report also includes an Economic Impact Assessment (EIA) of the
Port’s activities, and a framework for best practice
across New Zealand have unanimously agreed to suspend bike rack use until safety concerns can be thoroughly addressed. Council chair Charlotte Littlewood says she is frustrated by the restriction, noting its impact on the region’s goal of promoting low-emission, integrated travel options. “We’re very disappointed being forced to implement this bike rack ban, as biking, walking and bus use is central to our efforts to reduce emissions and improve public health. “We hope for a swift resolution to this
technology projects for groups of regional councils under the ReCoCo programme.
