Recommendations
That the Taranaki Regional Council:
a) takes as read and confirms the minutes and resolutions of the Ordinary meeting of the
demonstrating environmental leadership, teachers and staff at schools and early learning centres and climate action campaigners. Council Chair Charlotte Littlewood says the quality of entries each year shows that there are so many unsung heroes across the region who are devoting their time and energy to improving the environment and the awards are a fantastic way of spotlighting this work. “Our mission is to work with our community and care for Taranaki and we’re always delighted to see the award
Contribute to the greater team and organisational goals by completing
projects and tasks in an efficient and effective manner, including any additional activities as
directed by your People Leader.
Be flexible and adaptable – Flexible work arrangements meet the needs of our customers,
the Council and the individual and may include the need to work outside normal office hours
from time-to-time.

To provide a high-quality shared service for the regional council sector (and associated agencies) that delivers value to
customers, shareholders and the sector.
Mission
Deliver shared solutions to the regional council sector along with collaborative outcomes through sector special interest groups
to achieve:
• Consistent, good-practice regional council specific processes and functions
• Value through economies of scale

Businesses and homes in The Valley in New Plymouth will get improved protection from flooding with an upgrade to the lower Waiwhakaiho River Flood Control Scheme. The upgrades by Taranaki Regional Council will raise two sections of the existing defences including along the stopbank and a flood wall which protect shops and houses near Constance Street and Rifle Range Road. Council Rivers Manager Chris Vicars says revised flood modelling after a large flood event in 2017 identified two sections
the Taranaki Regional Council and three territorial authorities: the New
Plymouth, Stratford and South Taranaki district councils. The Stratford
District Council has agreed through a memorandum of understanding that
the whole district is included in the Taranaki region for regional transport
planning matters.
1.3 Period covered
As a mid-term review of the 2021-27 RLTP, this Plan sets out the region’s
transport activities covering the three financial years from 1 July
