July 2014 to June 2015 describes the monitoring programme
implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess the consent holders’
environmental performance during the period under review, and the results and
environmental effects of the activities.
The consent holder holds four resource consents, one of which is through a subsidiary
company which is owned by the consent holder; Surrey Road landfarms. These consents
include a total of 64 conditions which set out the
Tikorangi
Road East, Waitara. The wellsite lies within the Waiau catchment and contains a hydrocarbon
producing well and associated infrastructure.
During the 2014-2015 monitoring period, Todd held resource consent 9457-1, authorising the
discharge of contaminants associated with hydraulic fracturing activities into land at depths
greater than 3,200 m TVDss beneath the Mangahewa-E wellsite. The consent was issued by
Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) on 26 February 2013 and contained 16

Port Taranaki Ltd (the Company) is the commercial operator of the port
Kowhai-C wellsite, located at 492 Otaraoa
Road, Tikorangi. The wellsite lies within the Waiau catchment and contains a hydrocarbon
producing well and associated infrastructure.
GPL hold resource consent 9480-1, authorising the discharge of contaminants associated with
hydraulic fracturing activities into land at depths greater than 3,400 m TVD beneath the
Kowhai-C wellsite at or about (NZTM) 1711761E-5678397N. The consent was issued by
Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) on 22 February 2013

Executive summary
The South Taranaki District Council (STDC) operates seven municipal oxidation pond systems
within the district of South Taranaki. This report addresses performances of four of these
oxidation ponds' systems, located in the Waverley, Kaponga, Manaia and Patea townships1.
