1.1.1 Introduction
This report is the Annual Report for the period July 2012-June 2013 by the Taranaki
Regional Council on the monitoring programme associated with resource consents
for the Mangorei Hydroelectric Power Scheme operated originally by Taranaki
Energy Ltd, then by Powerco Ltd and more recently by TrustPower Ltd.
This report covers the results and findings of the monitoring programme
implemented by the Council in respect of the consents that relate to culverting,
damming and
Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) encompasses
the monitoring period 1 July 2012 – 30 June 2013. The report details the deep well injection
(DWI) consents held by Todd Taranaki Limited (the Company) during the period under
review. The report also outlines the Company’s DWI activities during this period, discusses
the monitoring programme implemented by the Council and its results, and also provides
an assessment of Company performance with regard to consent compliance.

sand around the breakwater, the city beaches to the north east of the port have previously
been starved of sand.
This report for the period July 2016 to June 2018 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the
Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess the Company’s environmental and consent compliance
performance relating to the dredge campaign during the period under review and the results and
environmental effects of the campaign.

We thank our long term funding partners New Plymouth, Stratford and South
Taranaki District Council for their continued support and recent increases in funding
of the Taranaki Enviroschools kaupapa. This funding goes towards Facilitation which
means that we can extend on the support in those districts. The Taranaki Regional
Council is impressed with the Enviroschools kaupapa and wants to see it grow.
Discussions are underway to
landfill located on Colson Road at
New Plymouth, in the Waiwhakaiho catchment. The landfill is currently filling stage three of
the site which has a design capacity of approximately 800,000 cubic metres. Stages one and
two have been closed and are fully reinstated. This report, for the period July 2013 to June
2014, describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council
to assess the consent holder’s environmental performance during the period under review,

The wellsite lies within the Waingongoro catchment and contains a hydrocarbon producing
well and associated infrastructure.
TAG hold resource consent 9397-1, authorising the discharge of contaminants associated with
hydraulic fracturing activities into land at depths greater than 3,700 m TVDss beneath the
