Data and information from LAWA are being used by many (central and local government, research
and education sector, industry, iwi and public) in a wide range of applications to inform decision
making.
3. New Projects.
The LAWA Operating System Upgrade was completed. This critical piece of work was required to
continue to be able to maintain and
up as remnants were tracking towards the drain. By 27 June the
waste bins with paint boxes had been cleaned up promptly, but the powder coating area was still generally
messy with rubbish and it was advised to keep on top of housekeeping in this area.

The 2012 report provided the background to the method of analysis used for the
computer modelling, and is not repeated in this report. The use of the GNS
attenuation rule is described in this report.
It should be stressed that the information presented in this report relating in particular
to the 10 m wave results are very extreme in nature, and should not be used by
still
a big job ahead to protect, restore, improve and maintain
our region’s wetlands. With the introduction of new national
policy and regulations, wetlands have become a national
focus for preservation and restoration.
Council officers are working on the ground identifying
and mapping wetlands, confirming swamp forests, and
encouraging and supporting landowners to fence, protect
and restore wetland habitats.
Between 2015 and 2020, more than $525,000 has been
