evidence of any ground water contamination. Iwi also inspected the site. A letter of explanation in relation
to the incident was received and accepted and no further action was required.
A re-inspection of the area in the vicinity of the pipeline leak adjacent to the Kauri-E well site was carried out

146.10. Section 146.10 provides that plugging and abandoning of Class II
wells must be accomplished with cement “in a manner which will not allow
the movement of fluids either into or between USDW” by one of three
specifically listed methods or an alternative approved method providing “a
comparable level of protection.”

NPDC holds discharge permit 2982-4 to cover the discharge of up to 60 m3/day of leachate from a sludge
stabilisation lagoon to groundwater in the vicinity of the Waiwhakaiho River. This permit was issued by the
Council on 17 October 2002 under Section 87(e) of the RMA. It
