3. Mid-term review of the Regional Land Transport Plan 2015/16 – 2020-21
3.1 Mr M J Nield, Director-Corporate Services, spoke to the memorandum updating the
Committee on the mid-term review of the Regional Land Transport Plan for Taranaki
2015/16 – 2020-21 (the RLTP); noting and receiving the outputs from the Investment
Logic Mapping (ILM) process undertaken as part of the
plan for future development and
environmental protection. It could map out growth
areas, infrastructure corridors, environmentally
significant areas to protect and areas at risk from natural
hazards. It could also provide a powerful tool for
supporting climate change action. A spatial plan can
identify the areas most suitable for renewable electricity
generation or sequestration activities. It can also indicate
where future infrastructure will be needed to combat
identified as Key Native Ecosystems.
