Renewable Power Ltd holds water permit 2299-3 to cover the damming of the Waingongoro River with a six
metre high concrete weir for hydroelectric power

Section 14 of the RMA stipulates that no person may take, use, dam or divert any water, unless the activity is
expressly allowed for by a resource consent or a rule in a regional plan, or it falls within some particular
categories set out in Section 14.
SFF Waitotara holds water permit 2261-3.1 to take groundwater from three bores in the vicinity of the
Waitotara River for meat processing purposes. This permit was issued by the
fall outside the
current programme. The 2015-2018 NLTP can be viewed online at
www.nzta.govt.nz/planning-and-investment.

conditions with a north westerly wind.
The cap was well grassed and intact with no sign of recent grazing or stock damage. No slumping or
cracking was observed. The ground was damp underfoot due to recent rain but no ponding was noted on
the cap. The batters were intact and grassed with no evidence of slumping, cracking or exposed refuse.
The stormwater drains were well grassed and free draining. The drains showed signs of recent flow, but
were not discharging at the time of the inspection.
