intense rainfall on 19 and 20 June resulted in
widespread flooding and slips and severe
disruptions to roading and electricity networks
throughout Taranaki. A Civil Defence State Of
Emergency was declared at 9pm on Saturday
20 June, and remained in place for a week.
The heaviest rain was in inland South Taranaki
but throughout the region, about 60 local roads
were blocked by slips and washouts and in at
least one case, repairs are expected to take
rain which was
noted on a couple of inspections in case ponding occurs.

2.2.2 Discharge monitoring
2.2.2.1 Effluent volume
Special Condition 2 of consent 0597-3 limits the volume discharged to 1,470 m³/d. The Company measures
and records daily the effluent volume sprayed on each irrigation plot and forwards this data to the Council.

hectares (248 ha in the Hihiwera and 69 ha in the Allison Street catchment.
The most upstream extent of the catchment lies only 4.5 km to the northwest of the Opunake
Township with the land falling at a relatively uniform grade over its total length.
The stream channels are therefore not directly affected by rainfall events on Mount Taranaki
but it is clear that the mountain affects the nature of rainfall events.
The catchment is almost exclusively used for dairy farming with very
