to commercial disposers on 23 March 2002. The site has more recently been used to dewater
and dispose of oxidation pond sludge from the adjacent municipal waste water treatment
plant but this activity ceased in early 2006 and the landfill was recapped and reinstated. The
only external material now accepted at the landfill is soil from a local sawmill site

Executive summary
DH Lepper Trust (the Trust) operates a piggery located on Mountain and Manutahi Roads at
Lepperton,
Council (NPDC) operates a wastewater treatment plant (NPWWTP) located on
Rifle Range Road between New Plymouth and Bell Block. This report for the period July 2020 to June 2021
describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess
NPDC’s environmental and consent compliance performance during the period under review. The report
also details the results of the monitoring undertaken and assesses the environmental effects of NPDC’s
activities.
