2. Regional Waste Minimisation Officer’s Activity Report
(Kapuni Gas Treatment Plant, KGTP) located on
Palmer Road at Kapuni, in the Kapuni catchment, South Taranaki. This report for the period July 2017 to
June 2018 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the
Council) to assess Vector’s environmental and consent compliance performance during the period under
review. The report also details the results of the monitoring undertaken and assesses the environmental
effects of Vector’s activities.

respect of the consent held to discharge leachate in the Tangahoe catchment. This is the fifth annual report
to be prepared by the Council to cover the consent holder’s
2016 to June 2017 by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) and
describes the monitoring programme associated with the resource consent held by Dimar Partnership
Limited (the consent holder). The consent holder previously operated a refuse dump situated on Ararata
Road at Hawera.
This report covers the results and findings of the monitoring programme implemented by the Council in
respect of the consent held by the consent holder that relates to discharges of leachate in the Tangahoe
Hydrogeologic Risk Assessment of Hydraulic Fracturing for Gas Recovery in the Taranaki Region - Appendices,
in two new replacement hoppers to reduce the risk of dust propagation from bulk dry
cargo unloading operations.
W Log-yard and B Log-yard (Figure 1) have been sealed. Improving stormwater quality was a key factor in
the decision to seal both of these areas. In addition a road sweeping and chamber emptying programme
has been implemented and the stormwater pathways and chambers are regularly cleaned.

shifted to the main Paraite Road site during the 2008-2009 year and is now monitored under the existing
consents for this site.
