4 Activities to be consented
4.1 Indicate the activities for which resource consent is being sought, and if no consent is being sought,
whether the activity is allowed as a
Council (STDC) operates a green waste disposal area located onBeach
Road at Patea beach. The site was established as a public facility that could accept green waste
for sand dune stabilisation purposes. The site is consented to accept green waste from the
Patea community and from STDC’s kerbside and transfer station collection. This report for the

Taranaki Regional Council to assess STDC’s environmental performance

operates a green waste collection and composting operation located at Victoria Road,
Stratford, in the Patea catchment.
Central Greenwaste collects green waste from domestic sources in the Stratford urban
area and then composts it at its Victoria Road site. The principal components of green
waste collected are lawn clippings and material from garden pruning.

1. Introduction
This report is the Biennial Report for the period July 2011-June 2013 by the Taranaki
Regional Council describing the monitoring programme
Whenuku Road in the
Waingongoro catchment. This report for the period July 2011-June 2013 describes the
monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council to assess the
Company’s environmental performance during the period under review, and the results and
environmental effects of the Company’s activities.
The Company holds one resource consent, which includes 10 conditions setting out the
requirements that the Company must satisfy. The Company holds resource consent 7845-1 to
samples for analysis, carry out surveys and
inspections, conduct investigations, and seek information from consent holders.
The monitoring programme for the Manutahi Road site consisted of two primary
components.
1.4.2 Programme liaison and management
There is generally a significant investment of time and resources by the Taranaki
Regional Council in ongoing liaison with resource consent holders over consent
conditions and their interpretation and application, in discussion over
discharges from the closed landfill at Eltham in the 2022-
2023 year continue at the same level as in 2021-2022.
2. THAT should there be any issues with environmental or administrative performance in 2022-2023,
monitoring of the closed landfill at Eltham may be adjusted to reflect any additional investigation or
intervention as found necessary.

3 Hawera landfill
Site description
The Matangara Road municipal landfill was used for domestic waste disposal for
onshore Maui Production Station via submarine pipelines. Another platform, Maui-B, was installed in 1992.
Gas and condensate from Maui-B is piped 15 km to Maui-A for initial separation, and then to the
production station.
The Maui Production Station separates the various hydrocarbon components, mainly by distillation. The
production station supplies natural gas to the national grid and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is transported
off-site by road tankers. Condensate is piped to storage tanks
