“TRC SEM” samples1 analysed exceeded the 4g/m2/30
days deposition rate guideline, with only 26% of all the gauges collected in the airshed as a
whole exceeding this guideline. There were two gauging locations, one in the vicinity of each
of Ravensdown Fertiliser Co-operative Limited and Katere Surface Coatings Limited, where
the guideline was exceeded at the time of both surveys. The highest result obtained during the
year under review was one of the Downer EDI Works Limited gauges, which was
to significant sand inundation events in the past.
Waihi Reef, another site impacted by sand inundation, had a
very likely decreasing trend that did not change following a
correction for sand inundation, suggesting that this decline
is being driven by other factors. A very likely increasing
trend was found for the Manihi Reef site, and no trend
was found for Tūrangi Reef. The trend with the greatest
rate of change was the sand-adjusted trend at Orapa Reef,

physicochemical analysis and three biomonitoring surveys of receiving waters. In
addition, monthly emission results and abstraction records were provided to the Council which were
reviewed.
The monitoring showed that the Stratford Power Station continued to be well managed with negligible
environmental effects as a process of the exercise of their consents.
Surface water abstraction was compliant with daily rate and volume. Process water discharges were
compliant with consent defined …

consents as defined in Section 1.1.4. The data and reporting requirements of the consent 0231-4
were not met within the set timeframe and it is further noted that given the current position of the flow
meter, the rate of abstraction is not accurately being measured due to the reservoir between the flow meter
and point of abstraction. Whilst Council is satisfied that meter is recording volumes of water consumed by
the scheme, it is not able to measure the rate at which water is being abstracted from
NZ’s medium projection for births and deaths, and the high projection rate for net migration.
This reflects improving economic circumstances in the region, resulting in job creation and inward
migration patterns. Birth and death rates are likely to be substantially accurate given that they reflect
existing trends and there is little likelihood of step-changes in the rates. This population projection
covers the entire district, including rural areas.

24 The Officer’s Report proposes Condition 37, which details the
requirements for a Site Exit Plan (SEP). Condition 37 proposes a
start date for preparation of the SEP (within 3 months of the
commencement date of these consents). I recommend the
inclusion of a date that the

Today, every dairy farm in Taranaki operates under a regularly monitored discharge permit that requires
effluent to be treated before discharge. And the rates of compliance are consistently high at over 93%.
Clean, healthy water is the region’s most precious resource. A highlight of the report is the finding that
trends in ecological health and a wide range of physical and chemical measures of water quality are the best
that have ever been recorded.
hydrological monitoring was undertaken by maintaining the McColl’s Bridge flow recorder.
The monitoring showed that overall the scheme operated within resource consent requirements for the vast
majority of the period being reported. During this period, the Company was fully compliant with lake levels
and the rise and recession rate restrictions for the lower Patea River. The Company provided adequate
residual flows within the Patea River at all times, with the exception of one incident that was the …
