Taranaki Regional Council
New Plymouth Constituency
Electing 5 Regional Councillors
Craig WILLIAMSON
My principal place of residence is in the New
Plymouth Constituency area.
For the past nine years as a Councillor I've
advocated for regional plans and policies that
ensure we encourage the best possible care of
our natural resources while protecting and
enhancing our coastline and waterways, at the same time
facilitating growth, prosperity, jobs and opportunities in our
Taranaki Regional Council has continued its strong and prudent financial management with a $2.6m surplus for the 2021-2022 financial year. The Council maintained strong levels of service as it worked towards improving lifestyles, taking Taranaki forward and supporting livelihoods while planning for the future and ensuring it can meet the challenges that the huge raft of reforms being rolled out by central Government will bring. The Council adopted its 2021/2022 Annual Report at today’s Ordinary
SER proposals;
regional advocacy responsibilities whereby the Council represents the Taranaki region on
matters of regional significance or concern; and
experience having successfully implemented water quality improvements within Taranaki.
3) The Council has also been guided by its Mission Statement ‘To work for a thriving and prosperous
Taranaki’ across all of its various functions, roles and responsibilities, in making this submission.
4) The Council notes its
off, which is proving to be an invaluable timesaver for busy farmers. For our team there’s no time to rest, with the rural roll-out soon to enter Year 3 of the 10-year programme. Next up is the coastal area from Okato around to Rahotu. So by this time next year another section of the region will be covered by predator control from the mountain to the sea!
