Groups and individuals who have gone above and beyond in their mahi to protect and care for the region have been honoured at this year’s Taranaki Regional Council Environmental Awards. In an awards ceremony held in New Plymouth on Wednesday night, the eight winners and 13 recipients of ‘highly commended’ awards were congratulated for their outstanding efforts to protect and restore Taranaki’s precious taiao (natural environment). 1.7 Management Plan Purpose
The Plan provides direction and guidance for the Taranaki Regional Council’s
management of Tupare over the next 10 years. The Council aim is to focus and
develop Tupare to realise the vision in a way that:
• Protects the heritage and domestic qualities of the house and garden,
• Captures the splendour of
the Taranaki Regional Council and three territorial authorities: the New
Plymouth, Stratford and South Taranaki district councils. The Stratford
District Council has agreed through a memorandum of understanding that
the whole district is included in the Taranaki region for regional transport
planning matters.
1.3 Period covered
As a mid-term review of the 2021-27 RLTP, this Plan sets out the region’s
transport activities covering the three financial years from 1 July
years.
This Regional Land Transport Plan for Taranaki (the RLTP or the Plan) has
been prepared by the Regional Transport Committee for Taranaki (the
Committee) which is administered by the Taranaki Regional Council and
includes representatives of all four councils in Taranaki, as well as Waka
Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.
The Plan sets out Taranaki's strategic direction, priorities and proposed land
transport activities for the next 6 years (1 July 2021 to 30 June 2027).
