TARANAKI REGIONAL COUNCIL | Telemetry information sheet for consent holders
Under new Government requirements, you must send the Taranaki Regional Council a daily
record of your water usage, instead of reporting annually as in the past. Daily reporting is
achieved using telemetry, which is explained in this leaflet.
Even when your water usage is being telemetered, your property will continue to undergo an
annual compliance monitoring inspection. A Council
consents and rules in regional plans, and
maintains an overview of the performance of resource users and consent holders. Compliance monitoring,
including both activity and impact monitoring, enables the Council to continually re-evaluate its approach
and that of consent holders to resource management and, ultimately, through the refinement of methods
and considered responsible resource utilisation, to move closer to achieving sustainable development of the
region’s resources.
