1.1.1 Introduction
This report is for the period July 2014-June 2015 by the Taranaki Regional Council (the
Council) describing the monitoring programmes for resource consents authorising the
abstraction of freshwater for irrigation purposes in Taranaki.
This report covers the data collected for compliance monitoring for resource consents
for pasture irrigation, horticultural and golf courses; as per the recommendations from
the previous report. This is the 12th annual
Lincoln Road at Inglewood, in the Kurapete catchment. This report for the period July 2016 to
June 2017 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the
Council) to assess NPDC’s environmental and consent compliance performance during the period under
review. The report also details the results of the monitoring undertaken and assesses the environmental
effects of NPDC’s activities.
NPDC holds one resource consent to intermittently discharge treated
in the Waiongana catchment.
One of the intents of the Resource Management Act (1991) is that environmental
management should be integrated across all media, so that a consent holder's use of
water, air, and land should be considered from a single comprehensive environmental
perspective. Accordingly, the Taranaki Regional Council generally implements
integrated environmental monitoring programmes and reports the results of the
programmes jointly. This report discusses the environmental

(Freshwater NPS 2020) and the National Environmental Standards for
Freshwater Regulations 2020
37. The National Policy Statement on Freshwater Management 2020 (NPS-FM
2020) came into effect in September 2020, replacing the 2014 and 2017
NPSs. The NPS-FM 2020 includes the concept of Te Mana o te Wai, which
puts the health and well-being of the water body as first priority. The
NPSFM 2020 requires regional councils to manage freshwater in a way that
gives

The Company holds consent 6876-1, which includes a total of 11 conditions setting out the requirements
