The New Plymouth District Council (NPDC) operates a wastewater treatment plant
(NPWWTP) located on Rifle Range Road between New Plymouth and Bell Block. This
report for the period July 2012 to June 2014 describes the monitoring programme
implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess NPDC’s
environmental performance during the period under review, and the results and
environmental effects of NPDC’s activities.
In relation to the operation of the NPWWTP, NPDC holds six
monitoring programme
implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council to assess the Company’s environmental
performance in relation to drilling operations at the Copper Moki site during the period
under review, and the results and environmental effects of the Company’s activities.
Investigation of an incident at the wellsite on 17 April 2012 led to a decision by the Taranaki
Regional Council to pursue a prosecution. As a consequence, release of this report had to be
delayed in order not to prejudice

Protecting Taranaki from the risks of harmful plants,
animals and diseases is an ongoing challenge. Under
the Biosecurity Act, rules may be imposed through
national or regional pest management plans. These
can bring significant costs and obligations to people.
There are also costs to ratepayers when

hydraulic fracturing activities conducted by Shell Todd Ltd (STOS) at the KA1/7/19/20/wellsite. The wellsite
and associated consents were transferred to Todd Petroleum Mining Company Ltd (Todd) in November
2017, prior to the completion of the monitoring programme.

The Regional Council has delegated provisions for contingency expenditure in the document
Delegations Manual for the Taranaki Regional Council.
In the event of contingencies arising in respect of civil defence emergencies, flooding, pest
disease outbreaks, marine oil spills

refurbished and comprises an anaerobic pond, two primary/facultative ponds in parallel,
and a maturation pond. This report for the period July 2012-June 2014 describes the
monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the
Brown Road, Waitara, in the Waitara catchment. This report for the period July 2015 to June
2016 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council (the
Council) to assess the Company’s environmental performance during the period under
review, and the results and environmental effects of the Company’s activities.
The Company holds one resource consent, which includes a total of 31 conditions setting out
the requirements that the Company must satisfy. The Company
