(STDC) operates seven municipal oxidation pond
systems within the district of South Taranaki. This report, for the period July 2014 to June
2015, focusses on the oxidation ponds system located at Hawera, which has recently been
refurbished and comprises an anaerobic pond, two primary/facultative ponds in parallel,

Air quality
The overall quality of air in the Taranaki region is excellent. Nonetheless, the Council keeps
a close eye on air quality as part of State of the Environment monitoring, and as part of
resource consent compliance.
Air quality data has been gathered and maintained for more than 20 years at up to 20 representative sites,
including urban, industrial, rural, coastal and pristine areas. In general, we use screening
programme reports and the Resource
Management Act 1991
1.1.1 Introduction
This report is the Annual Report for the period July 2013-June 2014 by the Taranaki
Regional Council (the Council) describing the monitoring programme associated with
the resource consent held by Bell Block Land Holdings and AJ Cowley Ltd (the
Company) . The Company operated a cleanfill situated on Manutahi Road, Bell Block,
in the Waiongana catchment.
This report covers the results and findings of the
Taranaki
Regional Council to assess the environmental performance during the period under review,
and the results and effects of the consent holder’s activities, particularly the environmental
improvements associated with recent major modifications to the disposal system. It also
records the state of riparian planting and channel improvement initiatives in the lower
Mangawhero catchment. Good progress has been made in terms of riparian fencing and
vegetation within both the Mangawhero and
production station located
on Bird Road at Stratford, in the Patea catchment. The Waihapa Production Station processes
oil and gas from numerous associated wellsites. This report for the period July 2014–June 2015

Council) to assess the Company’s environmental performance during the period under
review, and the results and environmental effects of the Company’s activities.
The Company holds a total of three
catchment. This landfill
does not accept any waste for disposal and has been fully reinstated.

Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) to assess NPDC’s environmental and consent compliance
performance during the period under review. The report also details the results of the monitoring
undertaken and assesses the environmental effects of NPDC’s activities in regard to these closed landfills.
