We’re pleased to bring you an update on the quality of Taranaki’s waterways.
Our rivers and streams are vital to the well-being, livelihood and lifestyle of
everyone in the region. As the manager of the freshwater resource, the
Taranaki Regional Council closely monitors waterway quality to ensure that
fact and science can feed into public discussion as well as into
kilometre north of Stratford in the Kahouri Stream catchment. The Company utilises a hot-
dip galvanising process to provide a protective coating for steel materials. This report for the period July
2017 to June 2018 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council
(the Council) to assess the Company’s environmental and consent compliance performance during the
period under review. The report also details the results of the monitoring undertaken and assesses the
permits, and in implementing monitoring programmes,
the Council is recognising the comprehensive meaning of ‘effects’ inasmuch as is appropriate for each
activity. Monitoring programmes are not only based on existing permit conditions, but also on the
obligations of the RMA to assess the effects of the exercise of consents. In accordance with Section 35 of

the RMA, the Council undertakes compliance monitoring for consents and rules in regional plans, and
maintains an

Waingongoro catchment. The Company holds a resource consent authorising the discharge
of treated stormwater into the Waingongoro River. This biennial report for the period July
2011-June 2013 describes the monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional

catchment. The Company holds a resource consent authorising the

Regional Council (the Council) to assess the Company’s environmental performance during
the period under review, and the results and environmental effects of the Company’s
quarrying activities.
The Company holds a resource consent, which includes a total of
Quality Plan,
the monitored operation of the plant had found no odour issues, and very few complaints
had occurred in recent years. This report for the period July 2013 to June 2014 describes the
monitoring programme implemented by the Taranaki Regional Council to assess the
environmental performance during the period under review, and the results and effects of
