iwi and hapū as we work together to
improve the health of Waitara River and
its catchment. Under the New Plymouth
District Council (Waitara Lands) Act 2018,
a portion of endowment land proceeds
is directed to this Council and hapū for
this specific purpose. The Act stipulates
that use of these funds should be
decided through a joint committee
arrangement involving the Council and
relevant iwi and hapū authorities. These
