gear. The results from this trial suggest that the timed-count method for pāua and kina might not be the
most suitable method for this reef during siginificant sand inundation events. It was recommended that
further discussion is undertaken with iwi to find an alternative survey method that would be more effective,
along with discussing what alternative cultural health indicators are important, and how they could be
monitored (e.g. mapping and monitoring of mussel beds).

Commission’s ‘Find My Adventure’ site for mapping of trails throughout
