Hāwera landfill
Site description
The Matangara Road municipal landfill was used for domestic waste disposal for the Hāwera District. A small
unnamed tributary of the Tawhiti Stream flowed down a deep gully (approximately 30m) from the north-
west to the south-east of the landfill site. The stream was directed into a 750mm pipe and waste was
deposited into the landfill over the pipe, shown

1.1.1 Introduction
This report is for the period July 2023 to June 2024 by Taranaki Regional Council (the Council) and details
the monitoring programme associated with resource consents held by Matahio Energy Ltd (the Company).
The Company operates the Sidewinder Production Station located on Upper Durham Road at
